The group formed in 2003, holding it's first meeting in Scone, Perthshire.
In the beginning we were a Tayside group but in 2005 the decision was made to concentrate activities in Perthshire. Although we are now a Perthshire group we do continue to welcome members from outside of the area.
Our activities include talks; workshops; social events; outings; seed swaps and plant swaps. We also participate in local events, eg promoting organic gardening at garden markets and garden open days.
Meetings are normally held in the evening, on the 2nd Monday of the month, in Perth.
Garden visits and outings usually take place at weekends, during the summer months.
Non-members are always welcome at our events. There is a nominal admission charge of £2 for non-members.
We also produce a Newsletter.
Perthshire Organic Gardeners is affiliated to Garden Organic (formerly known as the Henry Doubleday Research Organisation) and to the Soil Association. |
